AgingWell Series: Qualifying for Medicaid & Medicare versus Medicare Advantage
December 12, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Aging Isn’t Cheap. Understanding Medicaid, Medicare and Medicare Advantage
The average American underestimates the cost of in-home long-term care by almost 50 percent according to a 2016 Genworth Cost of Care Study. This same study reported that median cost for long-term care per year ranges from $43,539 to $92,378 depending upon care setting chosen. With the average life expectancy of nearly 79 years, making long-term care plans earlier in life is crucial for most Americans.
Understanding Medicaid, Medicare and Medicare Advantage will be the focus of the upcoming AgingWell seminar hosted by Perry Lutheran Homes. Featured speaker will be Sonya Ackerson, Founder and CEO of Advocate 4 the Aging. Ackerson is Life and Health Licensed and a Certified Senior Advisor. She specializes in financial case management for seniors and their families and works with Medicaid, Medicare, Long Term Care insurance, Health Plans, and Private Pay clients.
Discussion topics for those in attendance will cover qualifying for Medicaid and the differences between Medicare and Medicare Advantage. This free and informative seminar will take place at 4:00PM, on Wednesday, December 12 at the Hamlin Bell Apartments Community Room located at 2023 Willis Ave, Perry, IA
